Do you sell on Shopify, or supply to it?

The Shopify setup is different for each side, and picking the wrong one is the single most common reason a connection fails. Choose yours and we will take you straight to the right steps.

I sell on Shopify

Fill your Shopify store without holding stock

Browse the eDropShip catalogue, push the products you want into your Shopify store, and let every order route itself to the supplier who holds that stock.

  • Connect through the eDropShip app — no keys to copy, no code
  • Import products with images, descriptions and variants
  • Orders auto-route; tracking comes back into your Shopify order
  • Sell the same catalogue on TikTok Shop, eBay and 30+ more

I supply products

Put your catalogue in front of thousands of sellers

Build one custom app inside your own Shopify admin and your catalogue becomes available to every eDropShip seller — while you keep full control of price, stock and shipping.

  • A custom app in your own admin — never a public App Store listing
  • Map your Shopify collections to eDropShip categories
  • Set your own price adjustment and shipping per product
  • You created the app, so you can uninstall it at any moment

Why eDropShip for Shopify

Everything Shopify dropshipping should already do

The parts that normally eat your evening — importing, repricing, chasing stock, placing orders, pasting tracking numbers — run on their own.

One-click product import

Push products from the catalogue into Shopify with their images, descriptions and variants already attached. No copy-paste, no re-uploading photos one at a time.

Stock and price stay in step

Supplier stock and pricing flow through to your Shopify listings automatically, so you are not selling something that ran out this morning or losing margin to a cost rise you never saw.

Orders fulfil themselves

A customer buys on Shopify, the order routes straight to the supplier holding that stock, and they pick, pack and dispatch. You do not place the order by hand.

Tracking pushed back to Shopify

The supplier uploads the tracking number and carrier at dispatch and it lands on the Shopify order — so your customer gets the notification Shopify normally sends, on time.

Your margin, your rules

Set a price increase or decrease and a shipping amount that is applied to every product, per store. Your pricing is a rule you set once, not a spreadsheet you maintain.

UK suppliers, UK delivery

Verified UK suppliers shipping domestically, so customers get their order in 1–3 working days instead of waiting weeks for something to clear customs. Fewer refunds, better reviews.

Watch it work

See the Shopify integration, end to end

Short walkthroughs of the real thing — connecting a store, importing products, and watching an order fulfil itself.

Video coming soonThis walkthrough is being recorded. In the meantime, the written steps are further down the page.

Connect your Shopify store to eDropShip

The whole connection flow from an empty dashboard to a live, syncing Shopify store.

For the developer: every video is one entry in the VIDEOS array at the bottom of this file. Set yt to a YouTube ID, or mp4 to a file in assets/videos/, plus a poster image. Until then the slots show this placeholder — nothing breaks.
How it works

From connected to first dispatch

These are the actual steps from the eDropShip onboarding documentation — not a simplified version of them.

Create your eDropShip account

Sign up as a seller with your email address, then follow the link in the email from eDropShip and sign in.

Connect Shopify through the app

Sellers connect through the eDropShip app and authorise it against their store. There are no API scopes to copy and no custom app to build — that part is for suppliers only.

Map your categories

Open Category Mapping and match the eDropShip categories to your own. Anything left unmapped is skipped silently at export, so check this before you import in bulk.

Set your price and shipping

Set the increase or decrease, and the shipping, that gets added to every product's price. Test with a single product before you export the whole catalogue.

Import and publish

Choose your products and push them to Shopify with images, descriptions and variants. Then market them the way you normally would — ads, TikTok, SEO, email.

Let orders fulfil themselves

An order on Shopify routes to the supplier who holds that stock. They dispatch it and upload tracking, and that tracking comes back onto your Shopify order.

Suppliers only

Shopify supplier API scopes

Paste this block into the Scopes field on the Access tab when you create the custom app. Nothing more, nothing less.

Supplier Integration Scopes
read_fulfillments, write_fulfillments, read_assigned_fulfillment_orders, write_assigned_fulfillment_orders, read_third_party_fulfillment_orders, write_third_party_fulfillment_orders, read_orders, write_orders, read_products, write_inventory, read_customers, write_customers, read_locations, read_inventory

Sellers do not need this. Sellers connect through the app itself — there are no scopes to copy and no custom app to build. This section applies to the Shopify supplier setup only.

Paste the whole block. A missing scope does not produce a clear error — orders or stock simply stop moving in one direction, which is far harder to diagnose later.

Honest comparison

How this differs from a typical Shopify dropshipping app

Most Shopify dropshipping tools source from overseas marketplaces. That one difference changes delivery times, returns and your review score.

 eDropShipTypical overseas-sourcing app
Where stock ships fromVerified UK suppliersMostly China via overseas marketplaces
Typical UK delivery1–3 working daysOften 2–6 weeks
Who holds the stockIndependent UK suppliers with real warehousesMarketplace sellers you never speak to
Supplier side of the platformSuppliers onboard directly and set their own pricesNo supplier relationship at all
Other sales channels30+ — TikTok Shop, eBay, Amazon, Etsy and moreVaries, usually fewer
Order routingAutomatic to the supplier holding that stockAutomatic, but to an overseas listing
Tracking back to ShopifyYes, with carrierUsually, but often a slow-scanning overseas number
Returns handlingUK returns address from the supplierOften no practical return route
Cost to connectFree — you pay supplier cost per orderUsually a monthly subscription

“Typical overseas-sourcing app” describes the common pattern in this category rather than any one named product. Delivery times depend on the supplier, the destination and the carrier.

When something looks wrong

The problems that actually come up

These five account for most Shopify support tickets. Each has a specific cause and a specific fix.

What you seeWhat usually causes it
The custom Shopify app will not behave as expectedCheck that embed app was left unticked when the app was created, that all the scopes were added, and that the app was released. An unreleased app produces keys that look right and do not work.
Products export, but far fewer than expectedUnmapped categories. Products in a category with no mapping are skipped without an error. Check Category Mapping and export again.
The authorisation pop-up opens empty, or cannot find your shopYou are not signed in to Shopify in the same browser, or a pop-up blocker closed it. Sign in to the shop in another tab first, allow pop-ups, then try again.
Settings and Category Mapping tabs are missingThe shop has not been created yet. Those tabs only appear after you press Create.
“Insufficient permissions”You are signed in as staff rather than owner or admin. Ask the account owner to authorise it once — after that you can manage it day to day.
Prices on the shop look wrongUsually a margin set on the wrong shop, or VAT counted twice. Check the Settings tab on that shop, then export a single product to test before re-exporting everything.
Shopify dropshipping FAQ

Questions people ask before they connect

Straight answers. If yours is not here, support will give you the same kind of answer.

How do I connect Shopify to eDropShip?
If you are a seller, you connect through the eDropShip app and authorise it against your Shopify store — there is nothing to copy and paste. If you are a supplier, you create a custom app inside your own Shopify admin under Settings → Apps → Develop apps, add the supplier scopes, release the app, then paste the Client ID and Secret key into the Integration tab on eDropShip.
Is eDropShip free to use with Shopify?
Creating an account and connecting your Shopify store is free. You pay the supplier cost and shipping for each order you fulfil, plus a plan fee if you choose a paid plan. There is no setup fee and you can disconnect at any time.
Do I need a developer to set this up?
No. Sellers connect through the app in a couple of minutes. Suppliers follow a guided step-by-step setup inside their own Shopify admin — about ten minutes, and no code at any point. Everything you need is in the steps above.
Does stock and pricing sync automatically?
Yes. Once a store is connected, stock levels and prices are kept in step automatically, so you are not selling something a supplier ran out of this morning. You can also set a price increase or decrease and a shipping amount that is applied to every product.
What happens when a customer places an order on my Shopify store?
The order routes to the supplier who holds that stock. They pick, pack and dispatch it, upload the tracking number and carrier, and that tracking is passed back onto your Shopify order so your customer gets the notification Shopify normally sends.
Which Shopify API scopes does the supplier app need?
The full block is in the scopes section above, with a copy button. It covers products, inventory, locations, orders, fulfilments and customer records. Sellers do not need any of them — this applies to the supplier custom app only.
Why is my custom Shopify app not working?
Two things catch almost everyone out: leaving embed app ticked when the app was created, and forgetting to release the app. Both produce a Client ID and Secret key that look completely correct and do not work. Check those two first, then confirm every scope was pasted.
Are the suppliers really UK based?
Yes — that is the point of the platform. Verified UK suppliers shipping domestically is what makes 1–3 day UK delivery possible, instead of the multi-week waits that come with overseas sourcing, and it is why returns have a real UK address to go back to.
Can I sell the same products on channels other than Shopify?
Yes. Shopify is one of 30+ connected channels. The same catalogue can go to TikTok Shop, eBay, Amazon, Etsy and more, all managed from one dashboard, with stock shared across them so you do not oversell.
Can I disconnect Shopify later?
Yes. The connection is yours to control. A supplier can uninstall the custom app from their own Shopify admin at any moment, and a seller can revoke the app the same way. Nothing is locked in.
